When Hope Turns Harmful

One claimed to cure cancer with juice. Another sold hope in a pill. Millions believed them. They looked convincing. They sounded sincere. But it was all a lie, and the consequences were real. Even today, cancer myths spread faster than facts.

From “alkaline water” to “chemo is poison”, these stories keep circulating and are often fuelled by fear, false hope or someone trying to make a quick buck. We asked our colleagues at CRMY to share some of the most unbelievable cancer myths or stories they have encountered and the science that sets the record straight.
